Family Life Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1115 Morrow Road in Morrow, will host Happy Hour Live on Friday, March 27, from 9 p.m., to 1 a.m. Happy Hour Live is a new social alternative for Christians 18 years and up. Guests will be able to enjoy live music, intimate dining, and a full bar serving virgin drinks. Musicians performing on Friday will include the contemporary gospel band God's Gurls & Darien Brooks; gospel and smooth jazz saxophonist Antonio Allen, and gospel and neo-soul artist Chantae Chan. The ROC (Recreational Outreach Center) of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro will highlight marriage, and honor Clayton County's first responders on Friday night, March 27, with a screening of the movie "Fireproof," as well as a concert by John Waller, who is featured in the film. Each first responder attending will receive a free gift, and several door prizes will also be given. The doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with the concert starting at 6:30 p.m. The movie will begin at 7 p.m. Free child care is available with reservations for children from birth through the fifth-grade. The Community Impact Center, located at 2450 Mt. Zion Parkway, Suite 400, in Jonesboro, will host free HIV testing on Saturday, March 28, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. The test will utilize the OraQuick system, which requires no needles, or loss of blood, and gives results in 20 minutes. Dixon Grove Baptist Church, located at 7690 Fielder Road in Jonesboro, will observe Youth Day on Sunday, March 29. The 8 a.m., speaker will be Tyhesha Alexander, a senior at Clark Atlanta University who will graduate with honors in the spring. The Clayton County Coalition of Clergy will hold a joint session on Monday, March 30, at 8 a.m., at the Clayton County Public Schools Professional Learning Center, located at 1087 Battlecreek Road, in Jonesboro. This is an opportunity for clergy to receive a first-hand briefing on the school system's progress toward regaining accreditation from interim superintendent, Dr. Vayla Lee. Clayton County pastors, ministers, and clergy members are invited to attend. All college-bound high school students, and recent college graduates, are invited to attend the Friendship Community Church College Fair on Saturday, April 4, from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m. The fair is an opportunity for students to meet with college and technical school representatives from across the country to discuss course offerings, admission requirements, financial aid, and college life. The Palm Sunday Procession of the Palms will take place on April 5, at 8:30 a.m., and 11 a.m., celebrating Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. On Saturday, April 11, the church will host an Eggstravaganza, an awesome Easter egg hunt with 40,000 eggs, followed by the arrival of the Easter Bunny via helicopter. The Community Impact Center, Inc., located at 2450 Mt. Zion Parkway, Suite 400, will host its annual Community Outreach Day, on April 11, from 9 a.m., to 2 p.m. The event will provide free HIV testing, diabetes testing, nutrition counseling and mental health assessments.
