Jonesboro Police arrested three people at a house on North McDonough Street after spotting a pickup truck, that had been reported stolen, parked outside the home Wednesday.
Jonesboro Police spokeswoman Lt. Victoria Wright said Detective Donnie Raiford spotted the 1992 Chevy pickup parked at 798 N. McDonough St., at around 11 a.m., Wednesday. "We watched the house to see who would get into the vehicle to leave," said Wright. Police then blocked the vehicle to prevent it from leaving, she said. The driver of the truck, Christopher Scott Whigham, 37, of Riverdale, was arrested and charged with theft by receiving, according to Wright. A passenger, Mark Edward Allison, 45, of Jonesboro, was found to be wanted in Clayton County for a violation of probation and was arrested, Wright said. Also, the renter of the house, Michael Allen Smith, 49, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, according to Wright.
