Lucille Owen

Mrs. Lucille Owen, age 87, of Stockbridge died May 9, 2009.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul Burgess Owen; sons, Gary (Vicki) Owen of Stockbridge, Rodney Owen of Dunwoody; grandchildren, Melissa and Cecily of Stockbridge and a host of other family and friends.

Graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12, at 1 p.m., at Georgia National Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Shannon officiating.

James E. "Buddy" Hopper

James E. "Buddy" Hopper, age 59, of McDonough died Sunday, May 10, 2009.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at 11 a.m., at Pope Dickson & Son-Jonesboro Chapel. Burial will be at Piney Woods Baptist Churchyard in Buchanan, Ga., at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Hopper.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Grover "Jeff" and Sandra Barber, James Junior and Linda Hopper; brother, Eddie Lee Hopper; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Richard Garner; as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many friends.

Paris Guy Holcomb

Paris Guy Holcomb, age 82, of Clayton County died May 9, 2009.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, in Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel at 12 p.m., with the Rev. Raymond Gray and the Rev. Jerry Everrett officiating. Interment will follow in Moore's Temple Baptist Church Cemetery.

A long-time resident of Clayton County, Guy Holcomb worked for Ford Motors.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucille Holcomb; three daughters, Janie Hartley of McDonough, Joy Lesley (Bronnie) of Stockbridge, and Bridget Butler (Tim) of Crestwood, Ky.; son, Terry Holcomb (Debra) of Barnesville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lowell of Wiley, Ga., and Rose Shirley Barnes of Clayton, Ga.

He is preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.

The family received friends Monday, May 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
