Traffic was backed up for miles on I-75 northbound near Aviation Boulevard Tuesday afternoon, after a crash that injured two people.
All lanes were shut down for about an hour, according to Georgia State Patrol spokesman, Lt. Paul Cosper. The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m., when a small, passenger car crashed into the rear of a commuter bus that was stalled in the HOV lane, Cosper said. The driver of the car, a 35-year-old woman, was transported by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, according to Cosper. He said the woman's 7-year-old daughter was transported by ground to Egleston Children's Hospital. "They were alert and conscious when they left the scene," said Cosper. The driver of the Georgia Regional Transportation Bus, which had stalled, was the only person on the bus, and he was not injured, according to Battalion Chief Landry Merkison of the Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services Department. Cosper said the crash is under investigation. No charges had been filed. --Linda Looney-BondMore like this story
