Donald E. Wilkinson

Donald E. Wilkinson, of Jonesboro, died May 21, 2009. He was preceded in death by a son, Roddy Wilkinson.

He is survived by his wife, Myra Wilkinson; daughter, and son-in-law, Pamela and Greg Cunningham; son and daughter-in-law, Hal J. and Jean Wilkinson; a daughter, Jill Buice; grandchildren, Holly Hancock, Erin Hancock, Lydia Buice, Ashley N. Lane, Scott C. Lane, Ryan L. Lane and Cory Buice.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 24, at Mountain View Baptist Church in Thomaston, Ga., with Dr. Rex King officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 p.m., to 8 p.m.

Sarah Richardson Davis Battle

Mrs. Sarah Richardson Davis Battle, 86, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Sacred Journey Hospice.

Sarah was born in Atlanta, to the late Julius Caesar and Minnie Ophelia Elder Richardson. She was preceded in death by husbands, Jesse Bentley Davis, Jr., and Buford D. Battle, and by a son, Daniel W. Davis. She was a very active member of the Hampton United Methodist Church, where she often volunteered. Sarah also enjoyed playing Bridge.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Jim) Brown, of Hampton; son, Ben (Shirley) Davis, of Jasper; daughter-in-law, Sue Winton, of Atlanta; grandchildren, Danny and Chris Davis, Kelly and Benae Davis, all of Lawrenceville; five great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Paul Clyatt, of Peachtree City.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, May 30, at 11a.m., at Hampton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Burgess and the Rev. Charlie Green will officiate. Phillip "Todd" Collins

Phillip "Todd" Collins, of McDonough, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009.

He is survived by his mother, Freda B. Collins, of McDonough; sisters, Tami Grimes, of Bethlehem, Ga., Chelsey Collins, of McDonough; nieces and nephews, cousins.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m., in the chapel. Visitation will be Saturday, May 23, at 2-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Flora Geneva McVey

Mrs. Flora Geneva McVey, 88, of Forest Park, passed away May 22, 2009. She was born in Fannin County, Ga., to the late James Verlin and Nellie Shore Richards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Reece McVey; a stillborn child and by siblings, Glenn Richards and Pearl Anthony. She was a member of Guiding Light Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and cooking.

Survivors include her children, Bernard (Nancy) McVey, of Covington, David McVey, of Rex, Geneva (David) Guthrie, of Covington, Troy (Renee) McVey, of Covington; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 25, at 11a.m., from the Guiding Light Baptist Church in Jonesboro. The Rev. Harold Lowery and the Rev. Benny Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow in Hemptown Baptist Church Cemetery, Morganton, Ga., at 3:30 p.m.
