Clayton County Police have identified the suspect in a shooting Wednesday night that happened while three men were playing basketball outside a Jonesboro home.
Jamal Clemmons, 24, of 8918 Yarmouth Drive, was arrested following the incident, which occurred just before 7 p.m., Wednesday, at 8773 Channing Drive, according to Clayton County Police spokesman, Officer Kevin Hughes. "Witnesses stated that the victim was involved in an argument with another subject, who pulled a small-caliber handgun and fired upon the victim, striking him in the head," said Hughes in a written statement. The 22-year-old victim was transported to Southern Regional Medical Center in serious condition, according to Hughes. Hughes said Clemmons had barricaded himself inside his home on Yarmouth Drive, but later surrendered to the SWAT team without incident. - Linda Looney-BondMore like this story
