Clayton County Police are investigating a home invasion in which a man and a woman were reportedly tied up, beaten and robbed at gunpoint, early Wednesday morning in Ellenwood.
The incident occurred at a home in the 5000 block of Rice Court in Ellenwood, around 2 a.m., according to a Clayton County Police report.
The couple told police that a black man, dressed in all-black clothing and wearing a black ski mask, broke into the home, the report states.
The suspect stole $400 in cash and other items valued at $1,500, then left the home through the rear basement, according to the police report.
Officer Kevin Hughes, a spokesman for the Clayton County Police Department, said there was no indication that the suspect and the victims knew one another.
He said the woman was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
