Kong is a black and white domestic shorthair. His age is approximately 5-6 years old. He has been neutered, and is in the process of completing his vaccine series. Kong has been DECLAWED on his front feet. "Kong" was cruelly and ILLEGALLY abandoned at the front door of CCHS. This very large boy had been shoved into an extremely small carrier and left in the cold, to be found by CCHS staff coming in to work. "Kong" was given his name after being weighed in at a whopping 25 pounds! A cat this large won't fair well in a shelter environment. There is simply not enough room for him to move around as he should, to be able to get ample exercise so that his weight can be properly reduced and managed. In a real home, he would be a healthier, and happier cat. He is very good natured, and his veterinary exam revealed that, other than needing to lose weight, he is actually quite healthy. CCHS is always happy to place an animal, but in this case, it is more out of medical necessity than just to simply find a good home. Kong will only gain more weight at the shelter, and that could eventually be a real threat to his health. If you would like to open your heart and your home to this really special boy, please call Robin at 770/478-7531. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
