Oct. 3

The Ladies of Favor Mentoring Program will host a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, from 9 a.m., to 2 p.m., at 1299 Battle Creek Road in Jonesboro. Items to be sold will include adult and children's clothing, household items, furniture, games and toys. Call (770) 875-2216, or (770) 477-7899.

St. Augustine's Episcopal Church will host its annual "Autumn Faire," from 10 a.m., to 3 p.m., on Saturday. The fair features a Yard Sale, a "Kids' Village," and "Hamburger Heaven." Those participating include: the American Red Cross 'Bloodmobile," the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program, and the Georgia Child Identification Program (GACHIP). Taking place alongside the fair will be the church's annual "Blessing of the Animals" at 11:30 a.m. All pets, large and small, are invited to be blessed by Friar Barry Griffin. Oct. 4

In support of the One Church One Precinct Initiative, Higher Living Christian Church, located at 2455 Mt. Carmel Road in Hampton, will host Law Enforcement Appreciation Sunday on Oct. 4, during the 8:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m., worship services. Immediately following each service, all law enforcement officers will be invited to attend a private reception in their honor. The music ministry of Peachtree Christian Church will present Gabriel Fauré's "Requiem," on Sunday, Oct. 4, at the church, located at 1580 Peachtree Street, NW, in Atlanta. Oct. 9-10

Corinth Baptist Church is having a Yard Sale Oct. 9-10, 8 a.m., to 4 p.m., in the church's Fellowship Hall. Oct. 10

Three J Cafe is having a Harvest Jamboree on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Corinth Baptist Church, located at 398 Corinth Road in Jonesboro. Oct. 16

The Ladies of Favor Mentoring Program is inviting all youths and family out to a night of expression. Anvil Block United Methodist Church, at 3895 Anvil Block Road in Ellenwood, will host its annual Chicken Stew on Oct. 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. Take-out orders are $20 per gallon and $5 per quart. Higher Living Community Impact Center, located at 2450 Mount Zion Parkway, Suite 400, in Jonesboro, will host a Paracletos Counseling training conference on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30, from 8 a.m., to 5 p.m., and on Oct. 31, from 8 a.m., to 2 p.m. Paracletos Counseling holistically treats the whole man, combining Biblical principles with therapeutic interventions for recovery and deliverance. Nov. 7

Jodeco Road United Methodist Church, at 1500 Jodeco Road in Stockbrdige, will hold its annual Barbecue and Fall Festival on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m., to 5 p.m. Tickets for the barbecue are currently being sold for dine-in or carry-out orders. There will be a Bake Sale featuring homemade goods, a Craft Fair inside the church, and a Yard Sale outside the church. There will also be a Red Cross blood drive from 9 a.m., to 3 p.m. A free Children's Festival will take place alongside the festivities, from 11 a.m., to 3 p.m., which will include popcorn, a children's train, mookwalks, face painting, and more.
