Clayton County Public Schools will observe its fall break later this week and part of next week.
Students will be out of school Friday, Monday and Tuesday, according to school officials. School offices and the district's administrative offices will be open on Friday. Schools and district offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday. While the days off were included in the school system's 2009-2010 school-year calendar as a break for students, there will also be furlough days taken by school system employees. On Friday, teachers will be taking the second of three furloughs days approved for them by the Clayton County Board of Education in August. Non-teaching employees will participate in a system-wide furlough, approved in this year's budget, on Monday and Tuesday. The school system is scheduled to resume operations, with students returning to school, on Wednesday, Oct. 21. - Curt YeomansMore like this story
