A total of 23 people were arrested in the raid and sting on Thursday, police said.
Clayton County Police Spokeswoman GlenNeta Griffin says officers raided a house at 5712 Attucks Blvd., in Morrow, and arrested Luqman Alnas, 28, and Idrees Alnas, 24. She said police seized 55 grams of pot, a little less than 2 ounces, worth about $500.
Luqman Alnas was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Idrees Alnas was charged with possession of marijuana and obstruction of an officer. Griffin said she did not know the relationship between Luqman Alnas and Idrees Alnas.
Police also arrested Mark E. Jefferson, Jr., 19, of Morrow, and Aaron Gunn, 20, of Atlanta, on possession of marijuana charges. Griffin said she did not know where Jefferon's and Gunn's arrests took place.
After the initial arrests, Griffin said narcotics officers posed as drug dealers for several hours. "It started yesterday [Thursday] at approximately [1 p.m.] and went all through the night," she said.
Griffin said that after the four initial arrests, police made 19 more, mostly on charges of criminal attempt to obtain marijuana.
"We'd already received several complaints out of the community that they were selling drugs out of that house - that it was a known drug house," Griffin said.
