Three teenage girls were struck by gunfire Tuesday afternoon in an apparent drive-by shooting, Clayton County Police said.
The shooting happened in the 1600 block of Plover Drive in Jonesboro, according to Clayton County Police Officer Kevin Hughes. He said four teenage girls were in the area, just after 4 p.m., talking to a male or group of males, when a vehicle approached, and gunfire rang out from inside the car. He said between eight and 11 shots were fired. Hughes said three of the girls were struck, and taken to Southern Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
