James Dean Brooks
Mr. James Dean Brooks, age 48, of Thomaston, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Brooks was born June 7, 1961, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Grover Doyle Brooks and the late Martha Catherine Helderman Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Donnie League, and sister, Penny Ann Summerlin.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Marie Brooks; daughters, Robin Brooks of Heflin, Ala., Beth Hill also of Heflin, Brandy Nicole Brooks of Forsyth and Methera Kennedy of Cleveland; son, Daniel Brooks of Thomaston; brothers, Terry Lee Blankenship of Louisville, Ky., Randy Blankenship of Chicago, Ill., Doyle Wayne Blankenship of Troy, N.C.; seven grandchildren; sister, Robin Whaley of Anniston, Ala., and step-brothers, David and Gaither Hallmark of Delta, Ala.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 23 at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Ivester will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Louise Rawlins, 83, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Morrow.
Louise was born on July 30, 1926, in Atlanta, to Nesbitt and Ada Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Earl Rawlins.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie Crawford and husband, Dave, of McDonough, Denise Usary and husband, Joe, of Jonesboro and Trina Baxter and husband, Timothy, of Hampton; sisters, Kathleen McDevitt and Diane Franklin; brothers, Nesbitt Ford and Donald Ford; grandchildren, Wade, Tiffany, Tassie, Chris and Michael, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m., to 1 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 23, at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Friday, in the Eternal Hills Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, Ga. (770) 972-3155.
