Jewel Norsworthy Pendley

Mrs. Jewel Norsworthy Pendley, 95, of McDonough, formerly of Hampton, passed away Oct. 22, 2009.

Mrs. Pendley was born in Butts County, the daughter of the late Clyde Alberta McClure and Leary Lawrence Norsworthy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Cox Pendley in 1982; son, William Leary "Billy" Pendley in 1971; daughter, Myra Pendley Strickland in 2000, and several siblings.

She was a member of Berea Christian Church in Hampton. Mrs. Pendley was a devoted homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading the newspaper, cooking, gardening and playing bingo.

Survivors are her daughters, Mildred Brewer (and the late Kent Brewer), of Atlanta, and Katherine Lewis and husband, Ronnie, of Waverly, Ga.; siblings, Horace Norsworthy, of McDonough, Esther Brannan, of Stockbridge, Lester Norsworthy, of McDonough, Lorene Hardy, of Jackson, and Leary Cheney, of Marietta; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m,. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the McDonough City Cemetery. Earl Campbell

Mr. Earl Campbell, 68, of Forsyth, Ga., passed away Oct. 23, 2009.

Earl was born in Tunica, Miss., to the late Willie May Broughton and Robert Baker Campbell. He was a very giving and creative man, who enjoyed biking on the beach, hunting and camping in the mountains, his business, all cars and trucks, and most of all, his family.

Mr. Campbell served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Campbell. Survivors are his loving wife, Betty Sue Campbell, of Forsyth; children, Aubie (Dena) Campbell, Mike (Christy) Campbell, Clint (Patice) Campbell, all of McDonough, Nicole (Jose) Ortiz, of Stockbridge.; stepdaughter, Lisa (Craig) Timmons, of Griffin; brother, Bob Campbell, of Texas; sisters, Marjorie (Coleman) Robertson, Carol (Jeff) Hale, of Mississippi; 10 grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Mr. Campbell will be Sunday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m., from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Newell officiating. Lauren Jessica Walter

Miss Lauren Jessica Walter, 15, of Hampton, died Oct. 23, 2009.

Lauren is survived by her parents, Michael E. and Traci Walter; twin sister, Kathy Walter; brothers, Michael N. "Mikey" Walter, Joseph Walter; grandmothers, Shirley Turner, Katie Walter; grandfather, Charles Walter; aunts, Robin Turner, Sharon Shuford; uncles, Rich Shuford, Michel Angresano; cousins, Karen Love, Nancy, Sarah, and Caroline Shuford.

Ruth C. Anderson

Mrs. Ruth C. Anderson, 87, of Hampton, passed away, Oct. 22, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Van B. Anderson, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and John M. Satterfield, of Hampton; brother, Clayton Shannon, of Kentucky; sister, Mae Poindexter, of Indiana; 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 26, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. The Rev. Rick Stone and the Rev. Hinton Harris will officiate.
