lbond@news-daily.com The Fugitive Squad of the Clayton County Sheriff's Office, Wednesday, arrested Wilbert Lloyd Dawkins, 41, of Riverdale - a fugitive who was listed on the department's 12 Most Wanted list. Dawkins is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and three counts of weapons violations, according to Sheriff's Office spokesperson, Sgt. Sonja Sanchez. Dawkins was arrested without incident around 11 a.m., at a construction site located on Global Parkway in College Park, Sanchez said in a statement. The charges against Dawkins stem from an incident that occurred on Aug. 9, she said. Dawkins allegedly attempted to rob the owner of a Phillips 66 gas station at gunpoint, at an area near the Jonesboro business, according to Sanchez. "When that attempt was unsuccessful, he walked him down the street to his business (Phillips 66) in an attempt to rob the gas station, only to be disrupted by a 9-1-1 call," Sanchez said in the statement. Dawkins fled as Riverdale police officers were arriving on the scene, according to court records. He was being held Wednesday in the Clayton County Jail, Sanchez said. Dawkins is the second fugitive on the Most Wanted list to be arrested this week. Dayne Orlando Brown, 25, was arrested Tuesday at his Morrow home, located at 3037 Botany Drive, according to Sanchez. Brown is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of terroristic threats, according to Sanchez. The aggravated assault charge stems from an incident on Oct. 4, 2007 at 976 Forest Ave., in Forest Park, according to the sheriff's office's web site. Brown allegedly threatened two people with a knife, according to court records. He, also, was being held in the Clayton County Jail. On Aug. 25, another fugitive from the list was captured by the Fugitive Squad, according to Sanchez. Demontra Williams, 24, was apprehended at the BP station on Old Hapeville Road at Cleveland Avenue. Sanchez said he was wanted for two counts of aggravated assault, fleeing, attempting to elude, and violation of probation. Williams was being held in the Clayton County Jail, Sanchez said.More like this story
