Willard Eugene Dees
Willard Eugene Dees, more affectionately known to family and friends as Paw Paw, age 73, of Jonesboro, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5. Mr. Dees, an Army veteran, was self-employed in the drywall business for many years before becoming a building inspector, and was an avid fisherman and a member of the Riverdale Bass Club.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Horis A. Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. David Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
He is survived by three daughters, Debra Jean Cowart of Hampton, Cynthia Marie and Michael Lusk of Pasadena, Texas, and Nancy Helen and Don Barajas of Friendswoods, Texas; two step-daughters, Elizabeth Ann Radley-Taylor of Sugar Hill, Ga., and Debra Lyn Evans of Forest Hill, Md.; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Ray and Carolyn Dees of Daphne, Ala.; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Wise of Mobile, Ala., and Carolyn Lynette Kennard of Bay Minette, Ala.; special friend, Angie McCreless of Hampton. Mr. Dees is preceded in death by his parents, Willard E. and Effie Lou Jordan Dees; two wives, Doris Jean Johnston Dees and Carol Ann Yonce Dees.
