Billy is a very stunning Spaniel/Terrier mix. He is approximately 7-8 months old. He has been neutered, and is currently undergoing his initial series of vaccines. Billy, along with his two brothers, were abandoned along a rural, country road. The threesome had taken refuge in some nearby woods, but poachers who are already hunting illegally, had begun to fire guns in the woods. The dogs were found and befriended by a very special animal control officer. This very kindhearted officer began to feed the dogs and gain their trust. Knowing that the dogs were in danger from the poachers, they were captured and moved to CCHS as quickly as possible. These sweet babies have great personalities, and seem to love everyone that they meet. They have very obviously never been trained to a leash, but they have already proven to be very smart, and leash training should be a snap! Anyone interested in adopting Billy or either of his brothers (Ike and Mann), should contact Robin at 770/478-7531. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
Moses is a 3 year old, solid black domestic shorthair. Moses has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. Moses was surrendered to CCHS as a very small kitten, and he has grown up in the shelter. Though not easy to see in this photo, Moses is a very large cat. He is a great boy, and he loves all people, but he tends to get a bit rough with other male cats at the shelter. Because of this, and because he is so large, he had to be moved to cage situation (which is something we never like to do). Moses is far too large and active to have to spend his life in the confines of a cage. Moses would do well in a home with only female cats, or ideally, as an "only cat". He is a gorgeous boy, and deserves much better than the shelter can offer to him. A special adoption fee is in place for anyone approved for Moses's adoption. Inquiries should be directed to Robin at 770/478-7531.
