Susie Jeanette Anderson

Susie Jeanette Anderson, 83, of Riverdale, entered into rest Sept. 17, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rayford Woodrow Anderson of Riverdale; daughters, Brenda N. and John Rutledge of Peachtree City, Susan D. and David Leatherwood of Augusta; sons, Gary D. and Carol Anderson of McDonough, Randy R. and Wendy Anderson of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Sept. 20 at 3:30 p.m., at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Steven Usry officiating. The burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Carl J. Mary Griggs

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Pee Wee" Griggs of Canton, formerly of Sandy Springs, died Sept. 17, 2009. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend that enjoyed being surrounded by her family. She was a former member of Sandy Springs United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and Sanctuary Choir. She is currently a member of Roswell United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Griggs; grandson, Stephen Galezieski; brother, Charles Rendleman; and sister, Patricia Grede.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Galezieski of Marietta, Cheryl Kathleen Funsten of Canton, Karen Sue Griggs of Marietta; son, Ronald M. Griggs of Michigan; sister, Dorthea Papp of Buford; grandchildren, Kevin Griggs, Jonathan Griggs, Kirsten Griggs, Shannon Godfrey, Justin Griggs, Michael Gilbert, Heather Gilbert, and Rebecca Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m., at Sandy Springs Chapel with the Rev. Stacey Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park. William Horace Horton, Jr.

Mr. William Horace Horton, Jr., age 79, of Locust Grove, passed away Sept. 17, 2009. He was born in Bibb County to the late William Horace Horton, Sr., and Nellie Grey Ford Horton. He was preceded in death by a son, David Len Horton. He graduated from the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, Tenn., had pastored numerous churches in Georgia and Florida for many years, and had attained the status of bishop. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Stockbridge. Being a very talented carpenter, he had built many churches and parsonages over the years. He enjoyed preaching, singing, playing the piano and helping others. Along with singing in the Buckner's House Band, he was the "MC" of the Buckner's Gospel Barn.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Vara Horton; children, William Russell (Beth) Horton of Fairburn, Dennis Deryl (Jill) Horton of Senoia, Susan (Carl) White of Locust Grove; daughter-in-law, Sandra Knowles Horton of Macon; grandchildren, Joseph Shane Horton, William Chad Horton, Lisa Michelle Lail, Matthew Philip White, Jessica Melissa White; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (John) Wilkes of Juliette; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m., from the McDonough First Assembly of God. The Rev. Richard Bartlett and the Rev. Michael Branson will officiate. Interment will follow at Macon Memorial Park at 4:30 p.m. Friends may visit the family Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
