The Clayton County Headquarters Library will display items from the Daughters of the American Revolution celebrating the U.S. Constitution, and art work by Jerome Lawrence. The Arts Clayton Gallery will exhibit "The Georgia Watercolor Society 30th Annual Members' Exhibition," through Saturday, Oct. 3. Kroger is currently accepting donations for The Salvation Army Georgia Division, so that they can continue to provide food, water, clothing, cleaning supplies and other necessities to the flood victims, in Georgia. Arts Clayton is accepting applications for the "Grassroots Arts Program" for fiscal year 2010. The deadline is Monday, Oct. 5, at 4 p.m. The statewide program encourages local collaborations among artists, art organizations and non-art organizations, in order to serve a broad range of Georgia residents. Funding for art projects is open to non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, or units of local government. Today-Oct. 30

The Georgia Department of Transportation is accepting applications for the 2009 "GATEway Grant" program. The deadline is Oct. 30. Applicants should mail the application to the Georgia Department of Transportation Landscape Architecture Section, 600 West Peachtree St. N.W., 10th floor, Atlanta. The grant is used toward purchasing and installing plant material on state routes in community landscape projects located on public roads. Applicants who are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $50,000 include any organization, local government, or state agency. The Clayton County Soil and Water Conservation District will conduct its monthly meeting on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m., at The University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Cooperative Extension Service in Clayton County, 1262 Government Circle, Jonesboro. The City of Lovejoy will provide free flu shots for anyone on Medicare, on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 3 p.m., to 5 p.m.., at the Lovejoy Community Center, 11622 Hastings Bridge Road, Hampton. The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension in Clayton County will celebrate the 105th anniversary of Georgia 4-H, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 5 p.m., to 8 p.m., at Truett's Grill, 2042 Mt. Zion Road, Morrow. This is an event for fifth-through-12th-grade students, and their families. Students who turn in a receipt of $10 or more will be eligible to enter a drawing to win one of four Georgia 4-H prize packs. The grand prize will be one free Chick-fil-A sandwich, once a week, for the whole year. Activities during the celebration will include a Georgia 4-H trivia station, and face painting. Oct. 10

The City of Lovejoy will have its free, "PINK RIBBON Breakfast," on Oct. 10, from 9 a.m., to noon, at the Lovejoy Community Center, 11622 Hastings Bridge Road, Hampton. This event will raise awareness of early detection, and encourage women to get their annual breast examinations. Participants must pre-register to attend the event. The Southern Crescent Chorale, will have a concert entitled, "A Night in Old Vienna," on Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., at the Wyndham Peachtree Conference Center, Peachtree City. The Clayton County Chamber of Commerce will host "The 4th Annual Showcase Clayton" on Oct. 15, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the community center of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 7102 Mt. Oct. 17

The City of Forest Park Recreation & Leisure Services will hold its Autumn in the Park festival on Oct. 17, from 10:30 a.m., to 5:30 p.m., at Starr Park. Admission is free. Kaiser Permanente will have a "Flu Shot Saturday," on, Oct. 17, from 8:30 a.m., to 12:30 p.m., at the Southwood Medical Center, 2400 Mt. Zion Parkway, Jonesboro. The flu shots will be free for all Kaiser Permanente members. Oct. 23

State Rep. Mike Glanton (D-Ellenwood), and Clayton County Tax Commissioner Terry Baskin, will host the third annual Clayton County Business Community "Business2Business" Bowling Tournament 2009 on Oct. 23, at 6 p.m., at the Pin Strikes Entertainment Center, 3478 Mt.
