Friends of Indian Springs State Park will sponsor special spring and summer events on the second and fourth Saturday of the month through June. These special events begin this Saturday, April 10th: From 9-11 am there will be a Bird Walk Program directed by Kim Ruff.
Meet at the Stone Pavilion, and wear comfortable walking shoes. If you have binoculars, please bring them and, if possible, bring extras as we will be using them throughout the walk and would love to share with children who may not have a pair. This event is a wonderful way for you and your children to enjoy nature together at beautiful Indian Springs State Park. The event is provided at no cost, but the $5 parking fee per vehicle at the State Park does apply. For questions call the park at 770-504-2277.
Also, the Village at Indian Springs will have its Grand Opening for the season on Saturday, April 10th at 10 am. All shops and Pinky's will be open. The normal schedule for all the shops will be Thursday through Sunday; Pinky's will also be open on Wednesday. Pinky's Cafe will feature a weekly special along with Grilled Giant Burgers, sausage dogs and hot dogs on the weekends.
Join in a scavenger hunt through the Village shops this Saturday and Sunday to win a stay at the lovely Holloway Cottages. Free events for the children include an eight-acre whimsical garden and free art classes at Generations Gallery. Come rent a bike to explore the outdoors or a kayak for the lake at Indians Springs State Park. Don't forget Dauset Trails Nature Center. Check out our website for daily events and specials happening in the Village all summer long. www.thevillageatindiansprings.com For questions call 770-775-5350.
