McDonough man dies in wreck

Funeral services will be held Monday for a McDonough man, who died in an auto wreck Friday morning.

Henry County Police identified the victim as 19-year-old Steven Matthew Bond.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:50 a.m., at the intersection of Ga. Highway 155 and Millers Mill Road, according to Police Sgt. Rene Swanson.

"A male driving a scooter was driving southbound on Highway 155, when a Ford Escape traveling northbound, made a left-hand turn into the scooter," the sergeant said. "The driver of the scooter was fatally injured. The investigation is still active, and charges are pending."

Bond was a member of Community Bible Church in McDonough, and a 2009 graduate of Eagles Landing High School. He was an employee of Crystal Lake Golf and Country Club.

His family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2 p.m., to 6 p.m. His funeral is scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
