Local residents will have an opportunity to look at 25 different colleges, and affiliated programs, as post-secondary educational options when Martin Luther King, Jr., Elementary School hosts its "College Day Jamboree" next week.
The event, which will be set up like a college fair, will be held on Monday, from 8:30 a.m., to 11:30 a.m., in the school's gymnasium. The school is located at 5745 West Lee's Mill Road, in College Park.
The public is invited to the free-to-attend jamboree to learn about various options for higher education.
According to the school system's web site, the colleges and universities scheduled to participate include: Shorter College, Georgia Perimeter College, Argosy University, Brenau University, Kennesaw State University, University of Phoenix, Walden University, Capella University, Ashford University, Atlanta Metropolitan College, Brown Mackie College, Virginia College, Atlanta Christian College, Strayer University, Limestone College, Devry University, ITT Technical Institute, Georgia Military College, United Education International College, Laurus Technical Institute, American Intercontinental University, Central Michigan University, Georgia Gwinnett College, Georgia Shakespeare (a professional theater company in residence at Oglethorpe University), and Morehouse College.
