The Clayton County Board of Education is scheduled to vote on a $903,885 bid for the re-roofing of Fountain Elementary School, during its business meeting on Monday, as the school system continues to move forward with its initial Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) IV projects, according to the meeting agenda.
The recommended contract would be with Fayetteville-based Jimco Construction Company, Inc., according to an executive summary of the project that was given to board members on April 26.
The school board's May business meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., at the Clayton County Public Schools Central Administration Complex, which is located at 1058 Fifth Ave., in Jonesboro.
In addition to the re-roofing contract bid, the board is also scheduled to vote on five contracts, worth a total of $540,700, for security upgrades at five schools.
This is another SPLOST IV funding project. The board members are also expected to vote on two contracts, worth a total of $1 million, to have Norcross-based NetPlanner Systems, Inc., install new voice and data systems in the district's Ash Street Center, and the Eddie J. White K-8 Academy. The school board will also review board policies dealing with district personnel, and there will be a public comment section, so members of the community can address the school board.
