An investigation is ongoing in Henry County, centered on the alleged theft of flat-screen televisions valued at more than $320,00, from a warehouse in McDonough.
The theft was reported to Henry County Police on Aug. 2. A report by Police Officer Cassandra Shannon states that an employee of LG Electronics USA, Inc., located at 150 Greenwood Industrial Pkwy., alerted police to an alleged case of theft by deception at the facility.
The report states that a man named "Raul" came to LG Electronics on July 28, and picked up 720, 32-inch, flat-screen TVs, priced at $444 each.
Police Capt. Jason Bolton said "Raul," who is not employed with the electronics company, has been deemed, by authorities, to be a suspect in the case.
"We are working closely with the Cargo Theft Task Force and the [Georgia Bureau of Investigation]," Bolton said. "We are following several leads."
The suspect, Officer Shannon wrote, was hired to transport the televisions to AAAA World Importing and Exporting in Doral, Fla.
"[The employee] advised that Raul never arrived ..., and still has not arrived [at] the time of this report," Shannon continued.
Raul, the report states, was to have arrived at the Florida location July 30, around 3 p.m.
