Divine Faith Ministries International is hosting its 2010 free gospel concert, which will include a lineup of national and local gospel artists, for an evening of joyful praise and worship through music.
According to a media statement issued by the church, the concert will feature Devine Faith's choir, which is under the direction of national recording artist, Minister DeWayne Woods.
Woods is minister of music and arts at the church, said Rosalyn Elder, executive assistant to Pastor Donald E. Battle. She is at the church's north location.
"We have a full music industry," added Linda Torrence, executive assistant at the south location.
Other scheduled artists include: locals, Patty Francisco, Larrainia Goodloe and Bridgette Campbell-Croft; Vicki Daniels, from Augusta; Larue Howard, of Orlando, Fla., and several others from Florida - Latrel Maloy, Gerron Kendrick, whose stage name is Psalm 91, Mistro, Elder Nolan Jones, and Tiny & the Saints.
"This will be a special evening of high praise and worship, as they minister in song, spoken word and dance," said the church's written statement.
The free concert will take place, on Sunday, Dec. 5, at Devine Faith Ministries'' south location, according to Rosalyn Elder. The church is located at 9800 Tara Boulevard, in Jonesboro.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., and the concert will begin at 6 p.m. Church officials advise that participants should arrive early, because seating is limited.
"This is our first annual, seasonal concert," said Elder, and it is meant to usher in the holiday season.
"We want to unify the community, through the gospel of Jesus Christ," added Elder.
"We are hoping for a full house," added Torrence.
Elder said that providing special events, such as the concert, will allow the community to come together as a whole, and experience joy and fellowship.
