Clayton County Chamber to hold Holiday BASH


The Clayton County Chamber of Commerce will host a "Holiday BASH (Business and Social Hour)," on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 5:30 p.m., to 7:30 p.m., at Pin Strikes Bowling and Laser Tag Entertainment Center, 3478 Mt. Zion Rd., Stockbridge. The event will be free for chamber members and member-guests, and $15 for non-members. The chamber will also have its free "New Member Orientation" for new chamber members and those interested in joining, from 4, to 5 p.m., at the Stockbridge bowling facility. Until Friday

The Adoptive and Foster Parent Association of Clayton County, Inc., is accepting reservations for "The Uptown Winter Dance Affair," until Friday, Dec. 10. The dance will occur on Dec. 17, from 7, to 11 p.m., at The Morrow Center, 1180 Southlake Circle, Suite 100, Morrow. Participants are to dress in formal attire, in colors including purple and silver. AMC Entertainment, Inc., and the Autism Society of America have partnered to bring a showing of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," through Sensory Friendly Films, on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 a.m., at AMC Southlake 24, 7065 Mt. Arts Clayton will present "Santa Saturdays," on Saturday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m., to 4 p.m., at Arts Clayton Gallery, 136 South Main St., Jonesboro. Children will be able to take pictures with Santa Clause. Individual photos, digital images and packages are available. Prices vary. The "Handmade Holiday" event will be occurring simultaneously. The Douglas Brothers Foundation, Inc., is accepting gift registration and photograph waiver forms, for its "Annual Holiday Treat Festival" until Sunday, Dec. 12. Both the gift registration and the photograph waiver forms should be mailed to The Douglas Brothers Foundation, Inc., 7193 Jonesboro Road, Suite 202A, Morrow. Participants, who complete the forms, will receive a gift during the event, on a first-come, first-served basis. The Literacy For Youth Foundation is accepting donations for its clothing and food drive, until Dec. 15. The Jonesboro non-profit organization is accepting items such as clothes, shoes and toys to benefit the "7 Bridges to Recovery" ministry. The ministry will distribute the items to needy individuals. Kroger's Atlanta Division will support The Salvation Army's annual "Red Kettle Drive," until Dec. 24, at local Kroger stores. The bell ringers will be on hand with the red kettles to collect funds that will provide toys for needy children, meals for the hungry, coats for the homeless, and assist communities facing natural disasters.

Jan. 8, April 2, May 7

The Clayton County Library System, in partnership with The Decorum Group, Inc., will have a "Poised Youth Program Children's Etiquette Training, on Jan. 8, April 2, and May 7; from 11 a.m., to 2 p.m., at the Clayton County Morrow Branch Library, 6225 Maddox Road, Morrow.
