Gladys Stanley Gladys Stanley, of Lake City, passed away Dec. 7, 2010. She was born Nov. 9, 1912, in Cornelia, Ga., (Habersham County) and grew up in Greensboro, Ga. Mrs. Stanley moved to Clayton County in 1946. She was a homemaker all of her life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Morrow and a faithful WMU member all of her adult life. She enjoyed work in her community where she was a member of the Lake City Citizens Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh H. Stanley; mother, Sally C. Batson; father, John Wesley Batson; sisters, Annabelle Batson, Hazel Batson, Grace Batson; twin brother, Glenn Batson, and brothers J.W. Batson, Carl Batson and Tillman Batson. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Juanita (Nita) Stanley Maxey and Myron; Katherine Stanley Dodson and Ron; son and daughter-in-law, Walter L. Stanley and Linda; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Morrow First Baptist Church, Friday, Dec. 10, at 1p.m., with Dr. Jack Harwell and the Rev. Sarah Withers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Forest Park . The family will receive visitors TODAY (Thursday, Dec. 9), from 4 p.m., to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Morrow First Baptist Church. Thomas L.
