Clayton County Board of Commissioners member Sonna Singleton is set to be sworn in this weekend as she prepares to begin her second, four-year term, county officials have announced.
An invitation, sent out by the county, shows Singleton is scheduled to be sworn in Saturday, by Clayton County Probate Judge Pam Ferguson, at 4 p.m., at Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2112 Rex Road, in Morrow.
Singleton was re-elected earlier this year to serve a second term on the commission, as its District 1 representative. She was first elected to the commission in 2006.
County spokesperson, Jamie Carlington, said the other county commissioner who was re-elected this year, Michael Edmondson, does not plan to be the subject of a formal swearing-in ceremony.
