A 10-year-old boy was life-flighted to the hospital after being struck his father's car, while playing basketball in the driveway of the family's Jonesboro home, on Tuesday.
The child's father put the gearshift of his GMC Suburban into reverse, and the car went forward instead of backwards, according to Clayton County Police spokesman, Sgt. Otis Willis. "The boy was struck the car and pinned against the garage area," Willis said. Willis said that the name of the victim, and father, were not available. The injured boy was taken to nearMundy's Mill High School, in Jonesboro, and then life-flighted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, at Egleston. The condition of the child was unknown Tuesday night, said Willis. Authorities are investigating exactly what occurred Tuesday afternoon. Willis suggested that every driver should make sure, if kids are around in the presence of a vehicle, they are in plain sight, in order to avoid accidents. –– Mehgaan JonesMore like this story
