From Staff Reports
Two-time Clayton News Daily Offensive Player of the Year Clarence Jackson has lived up to his word.
After verbally committing to play college football at the Univesity of Mississippi last year, Jackson made it official Wednesday, signing a letter of intent to the SEC School.
Although he rushed for 1,954 and 31 touchdowns as a senior and helped lead the Eagles to a 10-3 record, Jackson is expected to play middle linebacker once he gets to college.
Teammate Torin Box is headed off to play major college football after signing with North Carolina State.
Box has played both left and right tackle for North Clayton head coach Rodney Hackney. Before the start of his senior year for the Eagles, he shifted over to play center.
