Two cousins are in the Henry County Jail, after a lengthy narcotics investigation and a pair of drug raids.
Steve Usher, 44, of McDonough, is charged with two counts of the sale of cocaine, and two counts of trafficking cocaine. Edward Fitzgerald "Fish" Usher, also 44, of Stockbridge, is charged with two counts of the sale of crack cocaine, and possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.
The two were apprehended Friday morning. According to Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton, the police department's Narcotics Unit conducted a three-month-long investigation, and two simultaneous drug raids Friday, resulting in the arrests.
"Over a half pound of cocaine was seized during this investigation," Bolton said.
Henry narcotics officers, he added, received "valuable assistance" from the police department's Criminal Apprehension and Gang Enforcement Unit, as well as its K-9 Unit. Bolton said a narcotics unit in Greene County also contributed to the investigation.
Preliminary hearings for Steve Usher and Edward Usher, according to jail records, are scheduled for Monday in Henry County Magistrate Court.
