Federal authorities recently arrested a man in Stockbridge, who was reportedly on the run in connection with an armed robbery case in Ohio.
Johnny Jackson, III, 20, was apprehended Friday by representatives of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The task force, according to a news release, located Jackson based on a tip from the Lorain County, Ohio, division of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
"Jackson fled Ohio earlier this month, and several leads led investigators to focus on Stockbridge, Ga., where he was arrested," the release states.
Authorities said he was taken into custody at a residence in the 100 block of Appleton Avenue around 12 p.m., Friday. He was wanted by the Lorain County Sheriff's Office and Elyria Police Department for aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary and kidnapping, stemming from an incident which occurred on Jan. 9.
Jackson and several associates allegedly stole nearly $2,000 in personal belongings during an armed robbery, the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Authorities said he was awaiting extradition from Georgia and would be brought to Lorain County to face charges.
