A group of fans at the March 7 Kobalt Tools 500 NASCAR race will watch the event for the price of $1.
Marcy Scott, director of marketing and promotions for the track, said the fans with the one-dollar tickets are responding to a special promotion which ends today at 9:30 a.m.
After the Daytona 500 race Sunday, which was won by Jamie McMurray, the track put 2,000 tickets up for sale for $1.
Those who missed the initial offering have a chance, until 9:30 a.m., today, to purchase a $1 ticket by buying one regularly-priced ticket at $85, track officials said.
The Dayton 500, held in Daytona Beach, Fla., was the first NASCAR race of the season.
Atlanta Motor Speedway seats 13,000, and the offer of the $1 tickets brought out fans in large numbers, officials said.
"It was great," said Scott. "There was a tremendous response."
