A Forest Park man wanted in Clayton County for a probation violation -- and in Atlanta on a homicide charge -- was apprehended at a Jonesboro Road motel on Tuesday, authorities said.
Raheem G. Anderson, 22, was arrested by members of the Clayton County Sheriff's Office's Fugitive/Investigations Unit and the Atlanta Police Department's Fugitive Squad, according to Sgt. Sonja Sanchez, a spokeswoman for the Clayton Sheriff's Office.
He was wanted in Clayton County for violating probation on a drug charge, Sanchez said. He was wanted in an Aug. 13, 2009 homicide in Atlanta, she said.
He was arrested at the Super 8 Motel at 3701 Jonesboro Road, just north of Interstate 285, after a short foot chase, Sanchez said. She said that when authorities searched Anderson's room, they found a handgun and drugs.
Anderson was being held at the Fulton County Jail.
