When Hope Rush was playing for the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy softball team, she was, well, simply dominating.

Rush overpowered opposing players from the mound, and paced her team's offense with the bat while leading the Lady Chargers to three straight Class A softball titles.

It looks like her college career might be just as special. The Georgia Tech freshman made her college debut for the Yellow Jackets in the USF-DeMarini Tournament in Clearwater this weekend and she helped the No. 13-ranked Tech squad to a 4-0 victory.

Tech knocked off Canisius 9-0, No. 3 Florida 3-0, East Carolina 3-0 and Florida Gulf Coast 10-5 en route to the unbeaten weekend.

Rush had a hand in all four of the team's victory. The former ELCA standout went 2-0 from the mound, striking out 13.

She also went .333 at the plate with two home runs and five RBIs.

Rush helped Tech make history against Florida. Their victory against the Gators gave the Yellow Jackets a win against their highest ranked team ever.

Her stats against the Gators included seven strikeouts She also ripped a homer.

Rush and the Jackets take to the softball diamond again this weekend when they play in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic in Las Vegas.

Tech makes its home debut on February 24 against Kennesaw State.
