The Strong Rock Christian athletic department is in transition.

After spending the first three years of its existence as a member of the Georgia Independent Schools Association, the Patriots are on the move.

Starting next year, Strong Rock jumps to the bigger Georgia High School Association where it will compete as a member of Class A.

"It's a done deal, and it is something we are looking forward to," said athletic director and football coach Cris Bell.

Strong Rock might be too new to have a rich athletic history, but Tuesday afternoon, the Patriots had plenty to celebrate as six student athletes were honored with athletic scholarships to play in college.

Jordan Barton (Carson-Newman) and Hunter Haffly (Wingate) will take their talents to the gridiron where they will compete against each other in the South Atlantic Conference, a Division II athletic league.

Marlee Morales (Georgia Perimeter College) and Haley Goodwin (Valdosta State) helped build the softball team from scratch and now they will take their game on to the next level.

Kelsey Moore is the middle of his final baseball season with the Patriots. but he already knows where he will spend his college career---on the diamond at Atlanta Christian College.

Anna Rozier takes her soccer talents to Brewton Paker.

"This is just the reward for their hardwork," Bell said. "It's a great day for our school."
