We all need to pray and spend time with God, daily.
In the rush of life today, I know setting aside time for prayer is difficult, but each of us should make time for prayer, because it is essential for Christian growth. Please read Colossians 1:9-11.
Jesus, Himself, taught us to pray. In Matthew 6: 9-13, He said: "This then is how you should pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your Name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.'"
In verse 14, Jesus teaches us that we must forgive sins committed against us, so that our Father will forgive us for the sins we commit. If we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us.
I'm afraid many people are caught lacking here, because it's so hard to forgive others when they cause us so much hurt and damage. But, forgive we must, in order to be forgiven.
The time we spend in prayer will bring peace and perseverance to our lives. Philippians 4:6-7 says: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Proverbs 15:8 says, "The Lord detests the way of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases Him."
The Holy Bible, Gods Holy Word, has been written to show His people the way to live and to please Him. God is willing and ready to save the lost sinners of this world, and in the Bible, He shows them how to be saved.
The responsibility of every Christian is to live according to the teachings of the Bible, and to be a witness to the lost, those who do not believe in God or put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you are reading this article and are not a Christian, I invite you to consider believing in God and accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior. Now, I realize you may not understand how to accept this invitation, so I want to help you.
First, you must admit you have sin in your life. I have had people to tell me they feel they are living a life without sin, that they treat others right and do not do evil things. However, the Bible tells us in 1st John 1:8, "If we say we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us."
Verse 9 says, "If we confess our sins, He will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the wrong things we have done (From the devotional Bible by Max Lucado)."
The fact is, if we do not believe in God, and ignore Him, there is no way we can live without sin. It's as easy as ABC to become a Christian: A, admit your sin; B, believe in God and His Son Jesus Christ; and C, confess your sins, which simply means ask God to forgive your sins, and trust Jesus to save you.
He will do it. I pray you will ask him.
