An early morning crash on I-75, southbound, Thursday -- between the Forest Parkway and Tara Boulevard exits -- left one man dead, and another in critical condition, according to Clayton County Police.
The crash occurred around 4:30 a.m., in the area of the J.C. Penny's outlet, according to Lt. Tina Daniel, a spokesperson for the police department. It happened when a vehicle hit a guard rail, and the right-rear side of a tractor-trailer truck, Daniel said.
"The two occupants of the [passenger] vehicle were ejected. One was pronounced dead at the scene," said Daniel.
"The second occupant was taken to Grady Hospital, by life flight, in critical condition," she said.
Authorities had not released the identities of the deceased man, or the injured man, by Thursday afternoon.
The driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries, according to Daniel.
