An 18-year-old teenager, who was ejected from a vehicle during an automobile crash in Riverdale Friday, has died as a result of his injuries, according to Clayton County Police.
Jesse Pich, of Riverdale, was pronounced dead at Southern Regional Medical Center, according to Officer Otis Wills, III, a spokesman for the police department.
According to a Clayton County Police incident report, Pich was pronounced dead at 8:18 p.m. Friday. The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m., Friday, on East Fayetteville Road at Valley Lake Drive, the police report states.
Pich was a passenger in a Toyota, and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to police spokesperson, Lt. Tina Daniel.
"The driver of the Toyota -- according to witnesses -- went to the stop sign, slowed down, but didn't make a complete stop, causing the collision," Daniel said.
The Toyota Camry collided with a Nissan Altima, and the Toyota then flipped over, according to the police report.
"Driver # 1's passenger [Pich] was pinned under the overturned vehicle," the police report states. "He was unresponsive, and had visible injuries to his face and body," police said in the incident report.
Daniel said other persons involved in the crash reported minor injuries. The driver of the Toyota, Hau Quang Le, 18, of Riverdale, was charged with following too closely, the police report states.
"Additional charges may be pending, based on the investigation," said Daniel.
The driver of the Nissan Altima, Trindolynn Gloster Scott, of Riverdale, was not cited, according to the police report.
