The Henry County Warhawks wrestling team finished third in the Class AA State Duals Saturday.
Head coach Marty Hutsell's squad earned their third place finish with a 33-27 victory over Lovett in the final match of the day.
"I am so proud of the way our giuys wrestled," Hutsell said. " We are young and have wreslted very consistently."
The Warhawks finished the event with a 4-1 record. In addition to their victory against Lovett, Henry County also beat East Laurens 61-9, Blessed Trinity 48-12 and Dade County 37-29.
The Warhawks were paced by Jake Orozco (130-pounds), who finished with a 5-0 record at this weekkend's duals. Brett Yarbrough (112), Darold Alexander (135) and Dalvin Tomlinson (285) each went 4-1.
Adarius Monford (135) and Rodney Mason (140) each went 3-2 at this past weekend's state duals for the Warhawks.
Henry County's only loss came in a 38-24 decision to Sonnarville.
Other squads from the Southern Crescent to appear at the state duals were Union Grove and Lovejoy, both in the Class AAAAA tournament, Stockbridge in the Class AAAA event and Locust Grove in the Class AAA tournament.
