The Westlake boys basketball team entered its game with Morrow ranked No. 1 in the Gasports.com Class AAAAA Coaches Poll.
Somebody must have forgotten to tell the Mustangs this piece of information, and by the time the dust settled Tuesday night, Morrow had pulled off one of the biggest upsets so far this season, knocking off the state's top-ranked team, 69-68.
Westlake led 68-67 with just seconds to go in the Region 4-AAAAA contest, but Morrow was able to steal the ball and convert the basket to go up by one.
From there, the Mustangs defense did the rest, sending Morrow's gymnasium into pandamonium.
The Mustangs improved their record to 12-5 overall and 5-5 in Region 4-AAAA. Westlake drops to 15-2 overall and 9-1 in league play.
Morrow was led by three players in double figures. Jordan Faciane tossed in 23, Charles West 21 and Julito Hutchinson added 14 en route to the win.
Ola boys 60, Forest Park 47: The Ola Mustangs jumped out to a 21 point lead at the half and held off any ideas the Panthers had at a second-half comeback en route to a 60-47 Region 4-AAAA victory.
Tim Mason led Ola with 17 points and Troy Swanson chipped in 15.
Ola moved its record to 7-9 overall and 5-5 in Region 4-AAAA action. Forest Park fell to 2-15 overall and 1-8 in the region.
Lovejoy boys 91, East Coweta 77: Cameron Solomon led five Lovejoy players in double figures in a victory over East Coweta.
Solomon exploded for 31 points. David Smith added 14, Chris Ashford chipped in 12, Justin Touyo 11 and Jermaine Hough 10.
Brandon Farmer led East Coweta with 30 and Joshua Houston tossed in 27.
Alcovy 50, Stockbridge 48: The Tigers saw its hopes of getting the No. 1 seed in Region 4-AAAA, and the automatic state tournament berth with it, take a big hit on the road.
With North Clayton's victory over Jonesboro, the Tigers (12-5, 7-3) fell to second place in the region.
Stockbridge has lost three out of its last four games -- all region games -- after starting the season 11-2 overall and 6-0 in the region.
