McDonough man arrested in robbery case

Bond was set in the amount of $10,000 Friday, for a man suspected of snatching stereo speakers and a hat from his alleged victim.

Reggie Lamar Colton, 18, of McDonough, is charged with one count of robbery by force.

He was arrested by Henry County Police Friday, and was brought to the Henry County Jail at approximately 1:30 a.m., according to Henry Sheriff's Chief Deputy David McCart.

An arrest warrant from Henry County Magistrate Court indicates the incident which led to Colton's arrest occurred Friday, on Burton's Cove in Hampton.

"[Colton] did with intent to commit theft, take ... three audio, 12-inch speakers and a baseball hat, property of [the victim], of the value of $440," the warrant states.

No additional details on the case were available Friday, according to Henry Police Sgt. Rene Swanson.

Colton appeared in court Friday, without an attorney.

Judge Wesley Shannon reset a preliminary hearing in his case for Aug. 2, to allow the suspect to hire a lawyer to represent him. Colton remained incarcerated Friday, according to records from the jail.
