Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) is offering a chance for a NASCAR fan, and 49 friends, to spend Labor Day weekend at the track.

The speedway is holding a "Celebrate the 50th with 50" contest, to commemorate its golden anniversary.

The winner will receive 50 Petty Grandstand tickets to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series night race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, scheduled for Sept. 5.

"I can't imagine anyone being more popular than the winner of this contest," said Ed Clark, AMS president. "To be able to have 50 tickets to bring your friends, and have your own party at our night race is such a tremendous opportunity."

Clark called the anniversary celebration the "largest Labor Day party" in the country.

Contest entries will be accepted through June 21. Each race fan may submit only one entry, according to the press release about the event.

A second contest will be posted on the AMS web site June 22, according to the press statement.

The competition, said Matthew Simmons, the marketing and promotion coordinator for AMS, kicks off a series of events at the Hampton speedway.

"This will ... help our fans celebrate our 50th anniversary in style on Labor Day weekend," Simmons said. "For each promotion, we're going to direct our fans to www.atlantamotorspeedway.com/50, where they can enter to win unique opportunities."

Simmons did not release details regarding future summer promotions at AMS, but said prizes will include pre-race party passes for concerts, as well as opportunities to meet NASCAR drivers.
