Hospital auxiliary wraps up busy May

Special to the Progress-Argus

The Sylvan Grove Hospital Auxiliary was busy during May. Members participated in the Community-wide Yard Sale at the Butts County Administration Building and made money for various projects.

On May 11, the auxiliary served lunch and dinner to all of the hospital staff. The meals were catered, and members of the auxiliary were on hand to serve the staff.

A large wheelchair to be used by the patients was purchased by the auxiliary and given to the hospital. The gift is intended to make the larger patients more comfortable.

Picnic tables have been purchased by the auxiliary and will be placed at the hospital for use by the staff and visitors. This will provide a place for the staff to eat or take a break on the outside.

Two scholarships were given to two students who plan to enter the medical field. The winners of the $1,000 scholarships were Haley Jamerson and Candice Jordan.
