There is plenty on tap this summer for USAAA baseball teams.
Now that regular season games and tournaments have concluded, All-Star action heats up this weekend at two locations around the Henry County as sub-state all-star tournaments begin at Ola and Hampton.
The Hampton location features 6, 8 and 10 12 and 14 year olds. At the Ola location, 7 and 10 year olds take the field.
"These kids have worked hard, and it should be some good baseball," said Matt T. Trebuchon, vice president of USAAA baseball.
Admission is $5 for spectators 16 and over. Under 16 gets in free.
Winners advance on to next week's state tournaments.
Also on tap this year is the 8-and-under USAAA World Series.
"This is the largest World Series anywhere in the country," Trebuchon said. "It has a tremendous economic impact on the county.
After an opening ceremony at Nash Farms on July 5, game begin the following day at Heritage and J.P Mosley Parks.
