Clayton County Public Schools construction officials will meet, tonight, with residents living near Charles R. Drew High School to provide information on the building of a new $1.6 million transportation facility in the area.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m., at 6237 Garden Walk Blvd., in Riverdale.
The new transportation facility will include parking spaces for 200 school buses, a driver-training course, and a building that will feature a training room, bathrooms, a break room and storage lockers for bus drivers, School System Chief Operations Officer Cephus Jackson told the Clayton News Daily in April.
It will be the school system's second bus facility, and act as a supplement to the existing one in Jonesboro.
The new facility will be built across the street from Charles R. Drew High School. Construction is scheduled to begin in August. According to a school system construction report, funding for the bus facility will come from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) IV.
