A Jonesboro teenager faces a charge of homicide by vehicle, after a female passenger in a car -- he reportedly struck head on -- died.
The wreck happened Saturday, at 12:40 a.m., according to a Clayton County Police report.
Police Officer Otis Willis, III, said the 16-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram that struck a Mercury Tracer, in which 42-year-old Lisa McNelly was a passenger, was charged as a juvenile, Tuesday, with homicide by vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
The teen driver told police he was traveling east on Ga. Highway 54, and was attempting to turn left onto Tyler Terrace, when he struck the Tracer, according to the report. He told police he did not have a green arrow, but had a green light at the intersection.
According to the police report, he was also cited for driving without a license and failure to yield while turning left.
