Both Eagle's Landing teams ranked in weekly soccer poll

The high school soccer season is off to a fast start for local teams this season and it includes teams ranked in the weekly eurosports.com coaches' poll.

Both Eagle's Landing teams are ranked eighth in their presepctive polls.

The boys' squad has jumped out to a 4-0 record and has outscored opponents 17-0.

The Eagle's Landing girls are also 4-0 and have scored 34 goals while giving up just one in the tean's 10-1 victory against Locust Grove.

Eagle's Landing also knocked off South Atlanta by putting the ball in the back of the net 10 times en route to a shutout.

Unbeaten too: The Dutchtown boys soccer team can count themselves among the ranks of the unbeaten, the Bulldogs have knocked off all four of their opponents including a 10-2 victory over Alcovy, Eagle's Landing Chrisitan 10-2, and Locust Grove 10-0. They play Clayton County foe North Clayton.

Playoffs in mind: The Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Lady Chargers have made it to the state playoffs each year they have fielded a team.

This year, the team opened with a 6-0 victory over Dutchtowwn.

Saturday, it faces a big challenge when it hosts eighth-ranked Eagle's Landing at 1 p.m on Saturday.

Trying to build off last year: Head coach Nick Ellis guided the Luella Lions to the playoffs last year with a 9-4 record. The Lions could be one of the picks to get back to the Class AAAA playoffs against this year. Luella is off to a 2-0 start with victories Douglass (6-0) and Stephenson (3-1).

Hoping to recapture the glory: The Forest Park Panthers made it to the second round of the Class AAAA playoffs with a 12-3 record. This year, the Panthers are off to a 2-1 start. Forest Park won their first two games, beating Callaway (5-0) and Morrow (4-0), before losing to Tucker.

Union Grove girls stays perfect: After making to the second round of the state playoffs last year, Union Grove is off to a 3-0 start. The Lady Wolverines have allowed just one goal.

The Union Grove boys team is also unbeaten with a 3-0 record.
