Clayton County Public Schools will host its second Academic Gallery Opening on Tuesday, March 16, from 5 p.m., to 7 p.m., at the Clayton County Public Schools Central Administration Complex, 1058 Fifth Ave., in Jonesboro.
Wednesday
Clayton State University's Campus Events Council will host a Women's History Month presentation, featuring actress Adilah Barnes, who was in the film, "Erin Brockovich," and on the television show, "Roseanne." The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 17, from 7 p.m., to 9 p.m., in the ballroom of the Student Activities Center. For more information, call (678) 466-4000.

Clayton County Public Schools, Clayton State University and the Clayton Archway Partnership is sponsoring a free writing workshop for ninth- and tenth-grade students, on Saturday, March 20, from 9 a.m., to 1:30 p.m., at Clayton State University, 2000 Clayton State Blvd., Morrow. The Clayton County Board of Education will hold its March Work Session on Monday, March 22, at 5:30 p.m., at the Clayton County Public Schools Central Administration Complex, which is located at 1058 Fifth Ave., in Jonesboro.

The U.S. Army recently announced that Sgt. Danielle R. Ivey, the daughter of College Park resident, Anthony McKennie, has returned to Fort Richardson, which is located in Anchorage, Alaska, after a one-year deployment to Afghanistan. She is an automated logistical specialist, assigned to the 725th Brigade Support Battalion. Ivey, who has served in the military for more than four years, is a member of the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, which is stationed at Fort Richardson. The airborne brigade served in the eastern Afghanistan provinces of Paktya, Paktika and Khost.

The Clayton County Public Library System offers many services to students, including tutoring programs for those who speak either English or Spanish, and online practice tests and electronic test-preparation books for the SAT, GED, ASVAB, and TOEFFL exams.
