Spring sports are starting to heat up around the Southern Crescent, and for several local teams, that means state rankings go along with the early-season success.
Eagle's Landing Christian is ranked fourth in the gasports.com Class A coaches poll. Weather has been a little bit of a factor for the Chargers, as the team's game against Henry County was rained out last week.
Still, ELCA is riding a seven-game winning streak.
The Chargers kept the streak alive against Commerce on Saturday, posting an 11-7 victory against the Tigers.
Since losing to Woodward Academy to open the season, the Chargers have scored at least 10-runs in every game.
ELCA opens Region 7-A competition Thursday at Fellowship Christian. The squad plays another league game on Saturday when it plays St. Francis at home

In high school soccer, the Eagle's Landing Lady Golden Eagles moved up one spot this week to No.8-ranking in the eurosport.com Class AAA coaches' poll.
But things didn't start out very well for Eagle's Landing. In a hard-fought contest against county rival Union Grove, a squad that plays in Class AAAAA, the Lady Golden Eagles fell to the Lady Wolverines 2-1.
